Zócalo DF, zona sagrada

Today, approximately 200 individuals gathered at the metropolitan cathedral to witness the Way of the Cross, dramatized by the “Fénix Novohispano” Dance Company. This event was previously halted in 2005 due to administrative changes within the Catholic Church hierarchy. In the midst of the crowd, an intense moment captures the emotion of the scene: a man, portraying Jesus with a crown of thorns, looks down in suffering. By his side, a woman, embodying anguish, appears to plead or scream, her face contorted in dramatic expression. They are both clad in costumes reminiscent of biblical times, surrounded by onlookers and other participants of the reenactment.
